An incredibly rare find; this Antique Neoclassical Italian Marble Table is an absolute showstopper and has an incredible story to boot.
This table was purchased by the most recent owners in Syria in the 1950s and brought to the United States, along with the matching mirror. These pieces served as the centerpiece of the decor at the Syriana Supper Club; the first Middle Eastern restaurant in Washington DC.
Striking Marble and beautifully handcrafted gilt carvings immediately catch the eye and the imagination. Structurally sound with some post-manufactured modifications. There is some cracking in the marble but I’m all honesty it adds to rather than detracts from the presence of this piece.
